Lost amid the Disney hype and then later with the no holds barred sexual evolution afterwards, is that Miley is actually pretty damn talented in multiple fields. It was just the in thing to do to put her down as nothing but hype and smoke and mirrors or a product of nepotism.

Not sure what the "body & leaks" thing is all about, but I've always thought Miley was a very talented singer/songwriter. She definitely went through a crazy phase, but she seems to have recovered quite nicely.

I assume that Sophie is referring to the obsession that aficionados of the Celebs forums have with "nip-slips", "cleavages", "costume malfunctions" and allegedly leaked revelations about, and images of sexual indiscretions and exploits, especially of an explicit nature!
The actual qualities, abilities, talents and skills of these (predominantly) girls/ladies appear to be of little consequence!

Ahhhh... now I see. I've heard about her indiscretions, kinda hard not to have when one is a member of a celebrity-driven forum. But it's just not something I follow all that closely. In fact, it probably seems weird to most that I'm even on such forums... it certainly does to me anyway...

I tend to be focused on just one female celebrity at any given time. Right now, and for the last 9 years, that has been Lea Michele. I am inexplicably smitten with her and her singing. I think she's the most beautiful woman alive.

As for all the other celebrities, I'm a definite "meh."

It's not that I don't like them or their work. I just don't follow them or make it a point to keep up on their comings and goings.

We're in Somerset, but earlier today before that, we passed Stonehenge!!!
Forced Gf to stop the car to get this for you.

We're now in Somerset and stopped off to see Montacute House (build in 1598) where the filmed the BBC Drama "Wolf Hall".

There's a whole generation of reality based "Celebrities", that are only famous for being famous or basically being themselves or running a You Tube channel.

I don't call that being famous or qualifying to be a "Celebrity", they're personalities.

In Miley's case, she has talent, she comes from a show-business/music background, so any fame she has is based on some talent as a singer/actor.
Like others before her (Jodie Foster/Drew Barrymore/Alyssa Milano and long before them Judy Garland and many more between them) they grew up
in what they used to call "The Public eye", some fuck up, some get into drugs, get arrested, rehab, something young people do accept they're in front of the camera.

Some fail, others go onto a adult career, some sadly don't make it.

Miley knows her to play the game and work the media and to sell the product, the product being Miley.

In 10 years time, i think Miley will still be around, i can't say the same for some of the younger "Celebrities".

He appeared & vanished, there's a bigger beach where dogs that aren't on a lead are banned.

That's Torquay which is in Devon, but near enough but don't say that to someone from Cornwall:)

    I love Fawtly Towers!

Thank you!!! I couldn't agree more! I never did get this whole "famous for being famous" crap. Especially when that "fame" is based on things like the "leaking" of a sex tape (Kim Kardashian ring a bell?) or just acting insane or being foolish in front of a camera, any camera.

In fact, I would throw the entire cast of any so-called "reality" show into this faux "celebrity" category. It takes zero skill to make a fool of one's self on TV.

While coming from a show-business background can certainly help get one's foot in the door, it can never seal the deal. So while Miley may have help from her parents (particularly her father and her very famous godmother Dolly Parton), it was Miley herself that had to take that opportunity and make the most of it, which clearly she did. There is no question that she's a very talented singer and quite a canny self-promoter. I can't speak to her acting skills as I've not seen any of her work in this field. But as you noted, the fame she does have as a celebrity is a result of her hard work and obvious talent.

It's quite true that kids who start acting young, especially those who come from families in the "business," often wind up having difficulties; drugs, acting out in public, getting arrested and so on. I think a lot of this is a result of their home environments. Sure, as child actors, these kids do get an inordnate amount of public attention, but how they deal with that is largely due to their parental guidance. For instance my fav, Lea Michele, has been acting and singing since she was 8-years-old (she started on Broadway and was a stage actress till she was 21) but she has never been in trouble with the law, never had a drug problem, never been arrested or been a tabloid sensation due to clubbing and wild parties. I believe that's because her parents were never in show business (her mother was a nurse and her father owned a deli) and never pushed Lea into it. Acting was something that Lea herself chose and her parents simply supported her while keeping her grounded in real life.

I couldn't agree more. Sure, she's had some ups and downs, but clearly she remains undeterred. Besides being a talented singer, Miley is clearly a very bright kid who knows what she wants and is willing to put in the work to achieve it.

Thanks for the pics! Very cool!

One thing about this pic... using the people walking around the site the vertical stones that make up Stonehenge look a lot shorter than I thought they were. Is this actually the case or is just some kind of visual effect due to your camera lens or being so far away from it.

It looks amazing for a building that's been around for over 400 years! And what a fascinating history it has been a witness to. I love seeing things like this that are still being preserved. Though it does look like it could use a spot of work here and there. But hey, I should look so good at 420...

I suppose its a optical illusion, you're looking up a slope, then a ditch (as fdar you i know) surronding Stonehenge.
The people are further down the hill, Stonehenge itself going down the other side of the hill?

    I'm hungry, Cornish breakfast time.
