I would actually be more OK with her smoking pot than I would be her smoking regular cigarettes.

 

Who cares if she smokes or not.. She's an adult, capable of making her own choices in life without needing superheroes here criticizing her... Enjoy her movies or move on.

It looks like one of those horrible French cigarettes that smell and taste like perfumed camel dung.

 

Her publisist, the producers of her movies, the insuance companies that cover anything she deals with, and all those young girls looking to a clean and healthy female role model. None of them want folks to just "move on".

 

The highest paid actors are rewarded for their public persona and image more than their acting ability. She's free to make her own choices of course, but they will undoubtedly affect her career.

 

I'm just digging her boots, and not caring what she's smoking.

 

Oh bullshit. Half the cast of Friends smoked, including Jennifer Aniston. Do you think her career suffered because of it? As long as a star has box office draw no one cares if they smoke or not, especially in an industry rife with smokers. Hollywood has made the concession of eliminating gratuitous smoking from films and TV, but that's as far as it goes.

 

That was decades ago, times have changed. Jennifer Lawrence has big roles in children's films such as Hunger Games and X-Men. As a parent I wouldn't want a role model who is taking drugs like this.

 

As a parent myself, if you rely on Hollywood celebs to teach your kids about right and wrong, you may be doing it wrong.

Those aren't kids films, unless you think gratuitous violence is OK for children. I would think as a parent you'd be far more alarmed at your kids seeing depictions, often graphic, of murder, than of someone just hanging out smoking a cigarette at their leisure.

Well I should hope not. I should think as a parent you would want to be your children's role model. Not some Hollywood actress who never asked for the job. Fucking parents are so arrogant these days. They think it should be everyone else's priority to set a good example for children. No one told you to have kids, so how they turn out is your responsibility, and yours alone. The world is run by adults for adults.

 

Most of us watch violent films as escapism with zero intention of replicating it. The same isn't true for smoking, which causes enormous harm via cancer and heart disease.
