That fact that you guys are here talking like its already over is exactly why he'll win. Why do Democrats even need to go vote with Hillary in such a commanding lead? Personally it seems all like rigged polling to me. You can't over sample Democrats by 10 points with a majority of those being sampled consisting of minorities and think that is representative of the country as a whole. Trump has a lead in early voting in many states and his enthusiasm is huge compared to Hillary. Trump can't go make his TV network or whatever you guys think he is going to do because he'll be too busy as president. And everyone likes to say that electing Trump would burn the system to the ground but he is only one man and the president is only one branch of our 3 branches of government. Can he change things, yes. Can he actually destroy anything? Not without congress and the courts say so.

No Trump is right the system is rigged, the next several President's have already been decided.....

I've been looking over my mail in ballot. Got it a week or two ago. 19 propositions in addition to candidate races...jeez. At least I can take my time. After the last few elections I decided to not bother with polling booths and I've seen lots of articles that say there has been a massive upswing in mail in ballots, especially on the democratic side. I think at this point over 6 million ballots both mail in and early voting has taken place. One problem with mail in ballots is if the count is close there is a delay in the results until mail in ballots are processed.

I never said they were well off. Do you know how many people in this country are financially overextended? There's no question the middle class is shrinking, alarmingly so. But it's also true that a huge number of people live beyond their means due to fiscal recklessness (Ford and Chevy sell a combined 3 pickup trucks on average every 60 seconds. Who are buying all those trucks?). The whole housing bubble fiasco is a perfect example of people making purchases they couldn't possibly afford. There's plenty of true poverty in this country. But there is also a great many people caught up in the viscious circle of playing Keeping up with the Jones's while not considering that the Jones's are playing the same game and are deep in debt themselves. Financial irresponsibility is as much a part of the equation as anything else. And then the blame game starts.
I don't pay attention to people like that, so don't insult my intelligence. Before social media there was something called socializing, which requires people to get out of the house. I wasn't raised on the internet, I grew up in the real world. I've worked in the manufacturing sector, and the construction sector and the service sector. I've been reading and following trade and industry publications for decades. And I've witnessed many changes firsthand, have been downsized a couple times and have known or seen more people lose their jobs to automation than to any other single cause. I've also seen and read of unions obstinately refuse to compromise with companies, which forced companies into bankruptcy, or worse, moving oversees. The steel industry is a prime example. People blame NAFTA for a lot of shit, but NAFTA was a desperate (and failed) attempt to protect North American manufactures from overseas (read Asian) competition. It didn't work very well, mainly because most consumers would rather buy the cheapest shit they can get their hands on instead of quality domestic products. So, you know, plenty of blame to go around. It's never just one thing you can point to.

He's got a lot of great narratives and legitimate problems to point out about the current system, but no real solutions to deal with them other than to tear it all up, and then even if you're ok with that, he has packaged these facets in the body of the biggest d-bag we've seen in quite some time. So it's just damn hard to vote for such a package, taken altogether.

There's a wonderful article on cracked.com that explains why he has so much support - it's actually a pretty good read as far as explaining things from the right's point of view, which you might not expect from that site.

I don't necessarily think the system is rigged, but can anyone name an instance where problematic voting machines switched votes to the Republican? I'm in North Carolina and I've already seen people posting online examples of where they try to early vote and pressing the Republican candidate switches it to the Democrat. My mother worked for the board of elections in her town for a number of years and she's told me tons of stories of people trying to vote for a Republican and it switched their vote to the Democrat. In 2016 there has to be a more accurate way to vote. It's supposed to be the most important duty of every United States citizen , so why don't we put more emphasis on making it better and accurate?

You blame the people for living beyond their means but I blame the lack of regulations. The corporations and the banks use any means necessary to bilk the people into buying their products while at the same time conning them into believing that they can afford it. US has the most credit card dept in the world, more than 4 times that of UK which comes in 2nd.

As far as trade agreements go, they are set up to safeguard US's dominance over the rest of the world. Similarly the TPP is used to make sure that emerging markets like China and India don't grow to threaten US trade. Neither China nor India are part of the TPP.
The thing is that comes at a cost, the US staying the global powerhouse that it is today comes at the cost of the average middle class or working class citizen. For the political establishment it's worth it because they are thinking long term, and US staying on top will be beneficial in the long term. Also, they like having a say in how the world goes.
But as is proven with this election cycle the people are frustrated by being overlooked by their own Government. Frustrated that the Government at the top is far more interested in global dominance than in solving the problems in their back yard.

Both Trump and Sanders opposed the TPP, called for lesser participation in NATO and lesser involvement in the problems of the world.

I've thought for years that America needs to get off its dependence for oil and just leave the Middle East to their own devices with the exception of defending Israel and nuclear proliferation. We also shouldn't be policing the world as much as we do.

Oh, hey Trumpland is posted up where The Circus is, got the latest Circus, haven't watched yet.

The price of Freedom is personal responsibility. People in this country want it both ways. They want to do whatever the fuck they want to do, and yet they want the government to protect them from the poor decisions they make while doing whatever the fuck they want to do. The problem with the proletariat isn't that they are being unscrupulously preyed upon by the privileged elite, the problem with the proletariat is that they are allowing themselves to be preyed upon by the privileged elite. Our Congress is chock full of greedy assholes. Has been for a long, long time. How did they get there? They were elected by Stupid People. The same Stupid People who now think it's a brilliant idea to elect a self-important, self-serving, pathological prevaricator of the worst order (He tells an audience in California, which has been struggling through a drought for most of a decade, "Trust me, there's no drought." Despite a mountain of physical evidence to the contrary, like near empty reservoirs, depleted snow pack in the Sierra, vanishing aquifers, etc, etc. He must think the government is hoarding water in the clouds above and he'll be able to turn on the waterworks like a faucet if elected!). The fucking gall of this guy is beyond monumental. It's insane. I'm convinced he's mentally ill. So yeah, The People of this country are greatly to blame for a lot of their troubles.
Well yeah, duh. You won't find many Americans proud of the fact that we're #2 at anything. The American People like our world dominance.
I couldn't agree with them more. We should stop subsidizing every other fucking nation, and stop policing the fucking world, come to that, and let someone else take on that responsibility. But oh the hew and cry from our allies if that were to happen!

That's a bunch of crap and you know it. Are you going to back that claim with something other than a right wing/fox "news" conspiracy blog? They only side who is doing voter suppression is republicans full stop. Even going as far as disobeying federal courts over and over. I know reading is hard for you, but try getting some facts, comprende?

How is it a "bunch of crap" when people are posting videos online of it happening? Nowhere in anything I said did I mention Fox News or right wing conspiracy blogs. I saw it with my own fucking eyes. I know reality is hard to live in for liberals but the videos are there. And why use the Huffington Post and Chicago Tribune as sources? You might as well use the DNC website.

Let me get this straight? A State that has a republican governor that is losing jobs and millions of dollars to his State due to his policies and has been ordered by the federal courts to cut it out with their voter suppression over and over that limits minorities from voting is changing votes to democrats? And you rate easily edited youtube videos over actual journalists? Here's a hint: if a news source has been blacklisted by thin skinned drump himself, you can guarantee they're doing a great job. I bet you that with your own eyes it was you doing the fraudulent things. Bet you even signed up to go harass minority voters in cities to. Which is illegal btw.

I have no doubt that happened, I've heard stories of "malfunctioning" machines in years past. I also think most of the voter fraud claims are a smokescreen. The real issues are suppression, gerrymandering, and registration issues. During the primaries there were several reports of batches of people being dropped from the registration rolls, and I think there may be a story or two like that in the last week. Amazingly most of the issues I list seem to happen in Republican controlled states and districts or affect Democratic voters. I'm suuuuurrre....it's just a coincidence.

voter suppression has been going on since mankind invented a vote, 99% of the time it is subtle and insignificant, for instance when the networks report so and so has clinched this and that east coast state, westerners think about standing in line for hours to vote; gerimandering in and of itself, democrat or republican, is voter suppression

maybe the funniest quote about voting this year came from guiliani when he said "dead people tend to vote democrat..." I got a chuckle from that

Those are my policies; I've been advocating them for years.

I'm not going to vote for some retard who comes to California and tells me, "there's no drought, trust me." I've lived out west for over 25 years and am intimately familiar with the climate and how heavily distressed the environment is. He's full of shit and doesn't deserve my respect, let alone my vote. In fact, I've never respected him because he's a total asshole. Always has been, always will be.
Used to be true in Chicago, but that was for local elections. Vote early and vote often.

Trump is like any snake oil salesman. He finds out what you want or need, then tells you just what you want to hear, and then convinces you to give him what you can't really afford.

He lives by the old saying.... There's a sucker born every minute.
