What I recall is that 10-7 is "in service" and 10-8 is "out of service." Example: 10-8 for lunch.

Well, I got them backwards it seems.....but Throbbn's list does bring back memories....I would constantly break into a conversation with "This is 51 and 10-12! This would happen when the conversation was inappropriate and the public or City Hall was present.
