    I don't like how the whole situation smells. The Niners are in the playoffs and have even had a sniff at the Lombardi. How can the ownership feel he isn't adequate compared to what is out there? Didn't they have a lot of injuries this season? Unless He, and his staff, have completely lost the confidence of the locker room...

    they've been saying for a while that he has worn out his welcome and that its time to part ways ... I think that Seattle passing the 49ers has made it an easier decision (if it is true the 49ers want to part ways) but you're right - who are they gonna get that is any better?
