    A lot of times they get damaged more from movers. There is a stop on the top hinge to prevent opening too far. That little rubber stop usually ends up inside the top left panel of a six panel hollow core door. The doors are textured and it's too hard to replicate in a repair, timely repair.

    That and, picture this if you can, an 80+ year old with an electric wheel chair. :yikes:

    One unit I have, I have to replace cabinet doors, a dishwasher front panel, a stove door, and a door to a bottom freezer that is ADA compliant. :pat:

    The doors being replaced are the original metal door with wooden jambs when the house was built, 25 years ago. The doors were rusted and the jambs wet and dry rotted. All of the cheap exterior hinges and hardware were rusted, which I am replacing with solid brass.....these doors and hardware should out last me. I hate maintenance!

    Never made sense to me to mount a non wooden door in wooden frames. Also, does not make sense to mount doors in floating frames!!!!!

    Thore - sorry for the confusion ... this was directed at Merlin because he seemed to be an expert at door replacement ... I was joking with him that it seemed he was running a frat house based on all the damage. He went on to explain the realities that lead to frequent damage. :(
