Define "better" before you go and assume shit about me or anybody else for that matter. I will assume that I can hit a curveball better than those you named. I'm better than them in that aspect. I can think for myself and make intelligent arguments, so I am better than at least two of those you named in that aspect. Before you continue with this sham of a debate, define "better" better.

Yeah good word deflated ... that's how I now feel after being drawn in FAR more than usual looking for MK Olsen. Of course I didn't find her and probably never will!

 

TL;DR - Interesting times.

This is a really good observation; there is no distinction between material stolen from a 'personal cloud' and that uploaded by a jilted ex-lover as they both turn on an absence of consent. Therein lies the moral conundrum in this extraordinary release and dissemination of images.

The forbidden fruit has been tasted, in circumstances where it was beyond people’s wildest imagination to envisage that they would ever see these people naked under these circumstances. Not only are (many of) the images far more explicit than Hollywood would ever display, but they have the added layer of being clearly images taken in a personal context. Once this new extraordinary reality had set in, and any moral issues swept aside if indeed considered at all, it became a quest to obtain the balance of the material purportedly held by these unknown persons.

I’m not assuming the moral high ground here as I have sought out these pictures. I haven’t joined what has probably been the largest global episode of simultaneous masturbation in human history, but my curiosity has been piqued and led me to dig deeper.

I've found the public discussion of the 'leaks' quite fascinating; both what has taken place on phun and in the general media. Many in the general public have read about 4chan and reddit for the first time, now associating those sites exclusively with this event or something equally unpleasant. Some journalists have leapt at the opportunity to virulently condemn those who seek these pictures out, drawing parallels between viewing these images with the actions of sex offenders.

There are numerous theories as to the origin of these pictures, but there appears to me only one likely outcome that will emerge following these events. There are numerous legal issues involved, both in the context of enforcing criminal sanctions and in pursuing civil litigation, and there are stakeholders with very deep pockets. Ultimately, the lesson here is that people should be more careful about where their private images are stored, especially those in the public eye.

Strangely, pictures of Spears or Hilton stepping out of a limo with the paparazzi taking explicit photos of them not wearing underwear never seemed to raise a collective eyebrow; they were widely published (in mainstream media) with the connotation being that the existence of the photos reflected poorly on those women and their decision to dress in such a manner. I realise they were in a public space and the recently released photos clearly were not, but I do wonder if the recent pictures were of Spears or Hilton would people care as much? I really don’t know.

Interesting times indeed.

 

Let's do the math....

1. Virtually all the celebs that were leaked confirmed the photos were legit.

2. Only 3 celebs originally declared them fake. (Victoria Justice/mckayla maroney/ariana grande)

3. Since than 2 have back peddled and now say they are real. (Victoria Justice/mckayla maroney)

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that when you break it down there really is a strong case that the Ariana Grande pics are real and legit. Pretty much everything you can actually track back to the source has been the real deal. Why would Ariana's not be.

 

That 5SOS bass player had his dick leaked and there was nothing, just a trend on Twitter, with girls talking about his dick and how they want him inside him.

An Academy award winner's nudes get leaked and now it's rape, empathy, all this bullshit.

Yep. But also of note is that you still actually need the person's Apple ID email and password.

As for getting that, most were probably obtained through traditional means. Some of the most recent may have used the iBrute brute force vulnerability. Though that has only been known about since early August at best, and it's widely thought that many of these hacks occurred much earlier than that over a period of time.

So, again, it was probably a lot the same old tricks to compromise accounts and then maybe the use of EPPB to get a full backup instead of just Photostream.

 

I love the way folks lash out at those that don't believe what they believe (both sides: The Moral Outrage and Don't take my Celeb Nudies away camps).

My two cents. I would suggest that it is wrong to "steal" folks private pics, data etc. To me it is no different to steal pics or to steal someones identity. If the shit's not yours don't take it I say. Just like you wouldn't want your credit card information stolen.

I do have a certain amount of sympathy for the victims. To say its out there already doesn't make it right. To say that they will benefit from the attention, etc. doesn't change the fact that their stuff was stolen. That said, it was nice to see Kate Upton in all her glory. :boobies: I just wish she'd leaked them in a scheme to get some publicity, not that someone stole her pics and posted them without her consent.

Are there any amateur pics posted here that are known to be stolen? If so maybe those should be removed? A fair number of amateur pics must have been originally posted by the girls.

Don't these forums exist largely because of "stolen" content or from invading celebs privacy. The videos are all original content? Aren't those "stolen." Hollywood seems more concerned about piracy than stolen pics. It's okay for a paparazzi to stick a camera up a celebs skirt or wait for the money shot as she exits the car? That's okay but this is a violation? I don't understand how one can peruse this forum and then claim they care about privacy or stolen content. Seems a tremendous amount of hypocrisy on display here.

I'm not one for upskirts or nip slips pics to begin with. (I think its hilarious when there is a huge debate to determine if it is a nip or a shadow!)

I'm not aware of a paparazzi actually sticking a camera up a celebs skirt ... that's not cool in my mind ... dunno if it is even legal? But nip slips and upskirts exiting a car etc. are all taken in public which legal. These fapp pics were taken in private and stolen. I don't see any hypocrisy in making that distinction.

To each their own, I can only express what I think.

 

Were the Strahovski pics actually from the source? I know once the shit hit the fan there were a lot of jerk offs downloading the zips, than adding some crap fakes and finally re-releasing it as if all the photos were from the original. For example the Jennifer Lawrence facial pics originated somewhere random and were clearly fake.

The Alison Brie/Franco photos are another clear fake example that I didn't think came from the original source. Although the first 2 Alison Brie headless leaks "from the source" sure did look like it was her body.

All I'm saying is that most of the fakes seem to come from large zip files with originals mixed in. But anything you can actually track back to 4chan, which includes ariana grande, all seems to be confirmed Legit.

EVERYTHING THAT APPEARS ON PHUN HAS BEEN STOLEN!

The screen caps, the scans, the pics, the vids - everything that exists here has been paid for by someone to produce, distribute or download. Everything!

Be it celeb pics from paparazzi, video clips from theatrical movies or pics and vids from professional model sites or those sites that charge to download amateur pics and vids. Somebody, somewhere paid to have these things and they have made their way along the internet until they end up here - for free! And then we look at or download them without having paid for anything except our internet connection bill. That makes each and every member or visitor to Phun an accomplice in thievery.
So moralizing on this website about the ethics behind what is private and what is legally available seems really hypocritical to my mind. :soapbox:

 

I never downloaded any zip or anything, they were the ones that were getting shown on 4chan/reddit near the start when shit hit the fan so to speak, I'm sure there are legit Yvonne ones around since she was on the list, probably never made public past the group of people that (by the sounds of it) have been collecting/trading for years
