The t-storms this afternoon have missed me so far...

The number of fans still in the stands, sitting in this for 3 hours after the scheduled start of the game amazes me. :shock:

How much more rain could your area handle if it really came down?

At night fall, my back yard had just about perked out most of last nights rain....so I need a few rainless days for my convenience. The City could take a lot more rain before there is any real flooding issues....probably, 8 plus inches within 8 hours would start to cause some problems, but that is very unlikely without a tropical storm of some kind.

Yesterday's storm was a phenomenon that occasionally happens here. It occurs when there is almost no major wind, i.e. the air is very calm, then the sun heating of the land creates thermal updrafts which creates the sea breeze on both the Atlantic and the Gulf coasts. The sea breeze is the cooler air off the large water body moving inland to replace the air removed by the thermal updrafts. Under perfect conditions, these sea breezes from both the Atlantic and the Gulf will meet in the center part of the peninsula. This usually creates large t-storms that drop a lot of rain. And that is what happened yesterday and once this weather machine got cranked up, it kept going for about 4 hours before it began to die down.

I've been looking at all the nude celebs whose phones were hacked. That's what almost brought Phun down earlier. There's a flurry of celebs being posted on Celeb Extra. It's like a holiday around here!

 

The NASCAR site has a live leader board that I like to have open in a tab as it allows me to see just what drivers are where in the race....having to use the temp record feature on my TV, this stops the displayed broadcast and records it so all I have to do upon return is to hit the play button, as I do when interrupted by things like the dog walking, I have to close the leader board tab as it will be out of sync with what I am watching.....and tell me what is going to happen relative to where I am in my race viewing. :?

 

It's warm and humid here for almost-September. Supposed to get storms tomorrow.
