  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    use an image editing software (like Photoshop) create a new image with the dimension you want. then paste another image of your choice into that empty image. maybe add some text or other effects. then save it into a format that works with the image (.jpg, .gif, .png, etc). then upload that image to an imagehost. copy the bb code you got from that host, open this link, and paste that into the text field there

    For a web app (in your web browser), maybe try Pixlr.

    If you want a native application (one you download and install), assuming you are using Windows, I'd probably try Paint.net. There's also Gimp which is full-featured and something closer to Adobe Photoshop. But, you probably don't need all of that.
