I think my dogs have out grown their collars...will need to measure them and go to Pet Smart and see what I can get some time soon.

 

When it does not rain, it is pretty high......several years ago the Daytona NASCAR races in early July had to be cancelled because the smoke from the numerous forest fires was so thick the drivers could not see adequately. :shock:

When the swamps dry out, we get peat fires that burn underground....no flames to see, but a ton of smoke....had that happen about two years ago about 20 miles or so south east of here....smokey air/skies for several months. The fires burn underground until we get about ten or more inches or rain to soak down and put the smoldering embers out.

I'm going to set up a Baby Account now. going to start putting money away now every 2 weeks for stuff like diapers, wipes, baby food, extra strong coffee for me, cribs. etc.

 

All in all, we have been well below average for rainfall now for over 30 years. We have had a few high rainfall years, like in 2004 when 4 to 5 hurricanes hit the state, but the overall average is way down. The sand bottom lake on which my family has owned property since about 1910 remains about 8 vertical feet lower than average.
