  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

Yep, that's your command or "shell" prompt. After that dollar sign is where you type.

My computer locked about 4 times. Had to manually restart each time. Now I'm back.

Yep, down under "::1 localhost", on a new line, add "127.0.0.1 yzus09by.com". Then you want to save and exit, which is what those things at the bottom are informing you about. That caret (^) means "Ctrl". So, Ctrl-X will exit and ask you if you want to save to /etc/hosts/, hit enter and then "Y" to confirm.

Or you can save first with Ctrl-O and then hit Ctrl-X. Doesn't matter which way.

When I try to close the window I get: Closing this window will terminate the following processes inside it: login, bash, nano
with the clickable options to... 1-cancel
    2-terminate

Did you exit nano (the editor) first with Ctrl-X? So, ideally you would be back at that prompt that you original quoted.

It was still on the screen where you typed? If so, cancel so you are back to where you typed, then try Ctrl-O first, then Ctrl-X.

Sorry. They added audio to the ad and I had to reboot a few times.

    I lost everything I typed.

Ok, I'm unclear on where you left off. So, you didn't get the "127.0.0.1 yzus09by.com" part added?

If you are having trouble with nano and saving it, maybe you could try this from your command prompt:

    Code:
    sudo open -t /etc/hosts
That would again ask you for your pass but try to open it the standard TextEdit graphical editor rather than the terminal editor. The reason you need to do this way is so you can open it with "sudo" (super user do) because it's a protected system file that only the root or admin user can edit. But, I'm unclear on what works which version of OS X. That's why i went with nano because that kind of command line stuff has always been there and doesn't really change.
