So, you're dipping into middle management now.... :thumbs: Good luck with that. Hope you don't have to weed through all the crap I have to.

 

We had a housekeeper leave and took applications for two weeks. Out of 47, 23 were convicted felons, 17 were just filling out the apps to keep their benefits coming (welfare), and we interviewed the rest, 7. Of the 7, 2 had pending investigations at their previous job, 3 did not interview well enough to consider. Of the last two, we offered to one and when she was filling out the initial paperwork, she threw a fit because she assumed full-time was 40 hours. Actually it's anything over 32 hours, which the position is 37.5 hours.

 

I agree with you both. It's all about getting the biggest bang for the buck. I freaked out and went nuclear when they cut my asst.'s hours. He's now at 37.5 per week. It doesn't seem like much per day, only a half an hour, but when you project it over a week!!!!

 

Fortunately, in my dept., that isn't an issue. It happens more so in the part-timers, less than 32 hours per week.

 

Mine is more subtle, they give you uniforms, which is symbolic of a kiss, then bend you over.

 

We, as Admin Staff, constantly get the "We're a publicly traded company" BS thrown in our faces. So tired of it all.

 

How are the Tigers doin'? I won't really start keeping up with MLB until after the draft.
