I bought a new portable hard drive and am now moving files. Gonna take a while.

Pretty much....never a cup race on Sunday, but normally either the Nationwide or Truck series has a race on the weekend sometime. This is the first that I can remember were there were no races. Indycar does not have that many races a years, so it is not unusual for one or two weekends in a row to have no races for them. I think the only major auto race was F1 in China, but I am not a F1 fan.

 

I'm going to lie down for a bit. Back in a little while.

 

I will have to do similar work the end of next week when my new PC arrives.....not sure just yet how I am going to transfer files to it. I need to look around here and see if my youngest son left a small monitor here that I can use to run both pc's at the same time and just use a 64 gig thumb/stick drive to transfer files....I dumped all my girlie graphics several months ago, so I am not dealing with terra bits of files.

I have a USB tether that allows PC-to-PC file transfer, but since I dump all my image and video files on the HDD in the first place I've never used it.

 

Doesn't that require some software to go with that to make it work?

Day was good. Worked and then went out with family for dinner to celebrate mother in laws birthday. Now just watching some corny syfy movie about a yeti and getting ready to smoke a blunt after wifey rolls the damn thing already!

You guys and your collections. I feel like a fucking amateur. My storage consists of a 32 gb minisd card. Theres still 2.5 gigs left too.

 

If you have a router where you can connect both to the same network, you can just share directly between them over the network. It might be trickier with one monitor, but you could probably turn sharing on in XP then unplug the monitor but leave the computer on. Then connect the monitor to the 2nd computer and turn it on. From there you could log in to the XP machine from your new computer and wouldn't need to see anything on it.

 

No collection here anymore....lost all interest and dumped them all (I think...)

Yeah. The driver is built in for whatever machinr you are transferring from. You have to download the driver for the other machine. It's just a small .exe file.

I have a wireless router that I now only use for multi pc internet connection. Not sure if I can use it to connect two pc's, though my new pc will have wireless capabilities built into it.

 

We went to Cracker Barrel. Not a huge fan but it was requested. I had a ribeye and some fried shrimp. Did the job

Well that's what I mean if you have 2 pcs already sharing an internet connection on the same router, they are on the same network and you can share directly between them. Either way, if your new pc is connecting to that router via wifi, you can do the same thing.
