  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    An SSD always speeds things up. But a bit more RAM would be even cheaper than that usually.

    I was thinking, I'm about to abandon my 500Gb drive for a 2 Tb drive. I could just send him my old one (old being a relative term, I've only had it for 18 months).

    Depends what machine he has and what size the drive is. It's a 500Gb SSD (solid-state drive)? Simply having more storage space wouldn't affect speed. But, SSDs are significantly faster than drives with spinning platters.
