    but what if you don't use it in say a year. I have a couple of battery powered drills that just wouldn't take any charging after not being used for a long time, no matter how long I tried to charge it it just wouldn't work. when I need to use something I need it now

    I had that problem with the old style batteries, but not with the Lithium batteries. I some time go 6 months without using them and they are still charged and will take a full charge. :dunno:

    I love my new system as I do a lot of fix up stuff that is spread out all over the house...like taking down the window shutter to paint and reinstall. The battery powered hand tools do the job and are most convenient. If I have a major project and set up a work station, then I will run the power cords to it ect. and work from there. I may have such a project coming up soon when I replace the ceiling on my large porch. Will probably rent a table or radial arm saw for that, but will secure the plywood ceiling with my battery drill/driver.

    I have one of those too. I also have about 4 pounds of bacon in the freezer that I need to cook and will the grill for that. :D
