    I recently got a battery powered pruning saw.....works well for those pieces that are just a bit large for the loppers and not really big enough for the chain saw.

    I'm thinking of getting one that runs on electricity, not batterypower. I use it so very rarely so the battery would most certainly be dead when I need to use it again

    I got the Ryobi 18-Volt One+ Lithium-Ion battery system as it has numerous power tools that run off the same battery packs. I did this when my older battery powered drill/driver died. The benefit of this approach is that you get one charger and two batteries, then can buy such things as a drill/driver, hammer drill, saber saw, circular saw, etc. and just use your two batteries. The lithium-ion batteries charge really fast and hold their charge much better than the earlier types.
