    There is no way I can spell the type of procedure, but is starts "lap" and sounds like laproscopic. I had that type of surgery in May of 2005 to remove my appendix. The surgery was performed at 1 AM on Wednesday and I straddled my hog on Saturday and headed for North Carolina. :lol:

    The same thing happened to a family member earlier this year. They originally thought it was the pancreas and just said to go home and keep to a certain diet and the inflammation would go down on it's own. It did, but then a month or so later another hospital said it was the gallbladder that caused the pancreatitis and it had to be removed. It was laparoscopic too and all went well.

    Laparoscopic surgery is less invasive. That's a good thing when your body is old and not as quick to recover. :yup:

    I am getting all my info thru my wife which, well.......anyway, as he did not have the life or diet normal associated with pancreatitis, the gall bladder was suspect, so the news today was not a surprise to me. My son (Dr.) said the same thing.

    I be perusing the WTA rankings (ladies tennis). Out of teh current top 50, I've 45 plus play live and/or photographed them ... the most notable exception is the #1 player and probably greatest of all time Serena Williams. I don't care for her, so I don't feel like I'm missing much! :D

    It is a good thing no matter what your age......the recovery time is in the range of a week rather than 5 to 6 weeks when they must open the area and cut muscles. I have had both......the voice of experience. :lol:
