    The additional info I have gotten about the crash is that they were following a truck that slowed to make a turn and my friend for some reason did not slow sufficiently and ran into the back of his brother-in-laws bike and went down. The brother in law is fine (don't know if he went down or not, but he is the one staying with my buddy. The are about 700 Km northwest of here.

    It appears that the most frequent cause of motorcycle/car accidents here is the car turning left in front of the motorcycle.

    If a biker is going to survive around here, you best be very alert and very defensive.....always prepared to give up the road to save your ass. i think you also develop an instinct for detecting bad situations if you are lucky enough to live that long.
