  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    Try specifying port 21 explicitly, or trying leaving it blank depending on what you were doing.

    If you've tried that, try going into your FileZilla settings and changing it to use Active mode instead of Passive.

    Edit -> Settings -> Connection -> FTP

    That might work, but Passive should work. So, if Active works I'd open up a support ticket with your host and ask them about it. They may need to change something on their end.

    If none of that works, I'm probably out of ideas :p

    So, which one was it then ... out of curiosity? The port number or active/passive?

    Ahh. Yeah, as far as I'm aware, using passive is more common and your host might have something misconfigured on their end. I'd open up a support ticket with them and mention it.

    I have a new Samsung Chromebook. The keyboard has no buttons for caps lock, delete, home or end. WTF Samsung?

    Cool. I've wanted to try one of those since I first heard of ChromeOS. It sounds really cool, but then I start thinking of various native apps that I absolutely need that don't run in a browser.

    No caps lock is a plus for me. I map mine to an extra CTRL key anyway (though I'd probably miss that instead). You might want to try some combo with the arrow keys for home/end. For example, the standard Apple wireless keyboards don't have them but you can use Fn + right for end and Fn + left for home.

    I've tried using both ctrl and alt keys with the arrows. Alt arrow up and down = page up and page down. Ctrl arrow left or right will take you to the beginning or end of whatever word the cursor is on. Reapeating that will take it to the previous or next word. What used to be the caps lock key opens the apps menu, sort of like the Windows home button.

    Those are minor complaints. Otherwise I like the machine, but it only works with chromium OS apps. The same Samsung model loaded with Windows would be different.

    Hi you guys. I've been home from work for a little while. Watching some TV and unwinding before bed.
