    Some of the sounds that Derek produces are just incredible. Not normally my kind of music, but fuck man, you gotta appreciate talent like that. I hadnt heard that before and I was pretty blown away.

    well the weekend is about over, well at least Saturday, so let's recap the games as I saw them. alabama won but not buy enough Ohio State has beat Wisconsin I was hoping for an upset there Wisconsin is the first good team that Ohio State's actually faced. Washington is beating Arizona Wildcats as I'd hoped they would Washington is really going to give Oregon a good run for its money if they can continue to win these games, there was a nice upset with Georgia winning, let's not forget that Notre Dame lost again that's good, West Virginia won which was very surprising, all in all a great weekend for college football but it was worth watching. I should also add to my favorite team Arizona Sun Devils are currently seven points ahead of USC so they're on track to win that game and that's a great thing

    I saw Derek back in '97 with his band Frogwings, which had his dad on drums, Oteil on Bass, Kofi (Oteil's brother) on Keys, and Jimmy Herring on guitar. Some great ensemble work that night between 'em, and some killer dual guitar work between Jimmy and Derek.

    Been on the 'straight and narrow' for awhile at that point, but I'd made friends with the sound man and some cats hanging out in back, and they broke out some o' dat mary jane for the occasion.

    Who was I to try and pass up such generous hospitality like that? :shrug:

    A cou'pla Bass Ales later, too, and that turned out to be a right special night, that was. :thumbs:
