  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    I have a forum too using phbb? (didn't notice what version you are using) but it's closed to non members and the registration is closed too. be careful to not get russian spammers joining the forum, I had more than 500 new members per day at one point in time, all spammers, which was the reason why we decided to close it, if someone wants to join they can send us a mail and we will register them.

    yeah I saw it, you might wanna tone it down a little or else people might not join just because of it

    I'm using the latest version, 3.0.11. And I use a simple question & answer countermeasure to keep out the spammers.

    that didn't help for me, it's like phpbb3 was a magnet to attract viagra spammers, and it was a bit much for me alone to delete like 200 posts & users / day

    I was flooded with bots too, but the minute I implemented the countermeasure, they all just instantly vanished.
