  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    we are not forcing to use DF, it`s just one of three mandatory filehosts. likely been one of the most reliable filehost with reasonable feature also for free downloaders.

    a) too many people still refuse to "hide" the original filename of the content they are uploading by rar-ing the file and give it a "cryptic" name. not our fault that many site-ownser don`t have that much trouble to find their content just by searching the web for their original filenames

    b) still a lot of people, apparently successful, use DF around the web.

    c) not a big deal to "steal" your vids from other hosts and re-up them - not a DF-exclusive issue...

    a lot of so far suggested alternatives aren`t even around anymore.

    Well mate I have 3k + my own edits posted here. I re up constantly my own topics for 3-4th .. time that's OK for 6 years span.
    How is DF reliable if in last two days I made 10 post and 6 I have to re up even just after two days for dead DF links!?
    Why mandatory host? You don't force DF but HF is even worse than DF (delete 2 my a/c) DF and HF delete links without any valid DMCA request. Than only left SO which is OK 4 me but very few dw so I guess not popular with users here, than again how good is that for users here.

    BTW "cryptic" rar's or zip don't solve delete problem all host read those content if not paswd. Renaming original files in something cryptic doesn't work with celebrity videos naming with name@movie is important (2 many celeb and even more movies/shows)

    That's relative. None of the scene sites (those that rip content movies/shows/games/music/porn) don't upload on DF or HF. I believe that you are not affiliated with any of those mandatory hosts (admins on other board use mandatory when they get deal with file host)

    So maybe you should rethink mandatory and back to allowed file host. They are all cash host and all good for mass posters if that was concern when opting for mandatory host. The links will last longer and user will have more choice. Only my 2c ;)

    It sounds like you've proposed your own possible solution. Why not password protect them? It sounds like (given that they are deleted so fast and frequently) these files are being deleted automatically by detecting the file hash. If you passworded the zip, you could throw in a different text file each time to change the hash (of the zip as whole). Otherwise, they can just automatically extract and hash the same video file as last time and match against a black list. Couldn't hurt.

    Pass may work on DF to prevent auto delete but pass ... Hashing wont I'll try that. If all my links/mirrors are dead than I know is valid DMCA request and I don't re up for some time. But if only DF is dead and mirror is alive than we get this DF/HF situation.

    Hello Pedrosa sorry for the delay.

    As far as im concerned they way you have done it is perfectly fine. I would probably have recommended you too post the video in the same thread and adjusted the title to Point out the thread has multiple versions of the video. But that is just me and like i stated this way works too.
