Nobody said anyone can't listen to anything they want it's just that generally speaking certain demographics go along with certain types of music... I listen to just about everything but I don't consider all of it music, or shall I say quality music... but it's proven that people get more sophisticated as they age, Barney.. I love you, you love me.. to Classical music...
Stereotyping is basically the same thing, it's not always right but it's probably right more often than it's wrong.

Take certain types of music and link it to the age groups that purchase it.. there will be patterns.. that was the point

 

That's hilarious. My parents hated when I listened to Rush or Styx or Zeppelin when I was young. If my 16 year old son listened to this stuff I would consider myself a total failure as a parent lol. It's a different time I guess. Good for Miley though, she's getting the attention she wants.

All your stereotypical viewpoints might hold up if we are talking about things in an extremely broad sense. However, when looked at with further scrutiny, on an individual basis, its very flimsy at best. Paint it up however you like, it doesnt change the fact that your argument is far from air tight.

My guess is that she was doing everything she could to distract from her head.

 

I wouldn't say im a fan of Taylor Swifts' music, but i do recognize that she has real talent, she plays instruments, write songs and stuff.

Someone like Miley just hires a producer and song writer to come up with a song that they think will be a radio hit, then she shows up on stage shaking her butt, theres a difference.

 

What the ...... is up with Miley??? It must be something in the Disney water that causes growing up female child stars to loose their way when they are in their 20s.

Pretty much. These guys want to act like they've never heard the word demographic before so they can justify their criticisms. We all agree the song sucks, fine. Guess what? Its still the most popular song in the country, along with the Robin Thicke song she was out there for as well. Obviously a large group of people like the music and for posters on here to find that so baffling only proves that the music is not intended for them. Simple logic.
