    some more fiddling around with After Effects, took longer than i thought but i like how it looks. exported from AE as image sequence, then turned into a gif through PS, and added some layer effects in PS as well

    unfortunately the original video footage didn't have a lot of bubbles, and what was there was part of a panning shot that i had to stabilise and also had her moving round in the 'background' so i had to work around her and salvage what i could, then duplicated it to add more of an effect on the right hand side and in the middle

    You know, it's not that easy to use those flat bubble brushes well. They usually look overdone to me. This one works out real well.

    They're not brushes actually, it's just a screened image of some lights. I may work on the clarity a bit because her face looks a little hazy with the overlay.
