Then I'd say this is a natural phenomenon that occurs whenever getting together a critical mass of young people, talking about attractive - and unobtainable - women all day.

That doesn't mean we should encourage such behavior, though, either.

Apart from the fact that we live in a judgmental society, I see it as a general sign of insecurity - perhaps due to the fact that most of these women are way out of their league, they'll never meet them in a million years, and subsequently talking trash about them...serves to make them feel better about themselves.

But hey, what do I know; I just see this every day at our own forum.

• Post Filters - Add key terms as flag words like we do now for banned hosts, etc. It's The Nanny Approach - but it works. Some people won't like you 'interfering with their free speech', but oh well. Let 'em start their own board and make their own rules, if they don't like the ones here.
• Add a 'Don't Be Crass' rule to The Rules. Enforcement at the Mods' discretion - and reported frequency. Flexible, and puts the onus on the members to perform.
• Do Nothing, and possibly encourage the behavior, by proxy.

Get enough folks together, and you have a certain amount of Tribal Dynamics occurring. If you have enough people spreading derogatory comments, especially forum leaders, others are likely to follow suit.

The reverse is also true. (e.g. 2nd bullet point, above) :2cent:

Not really..........celebrities and models stand out as far away idols or icons.........dehumanizing them to the general public and thus giving them opportunities to rather guilelessly objectify them.

 

That's more or less the angle I'm considering. We don't need yet another rule. What I want to affect is a paradigm shift among the members.

 

Personally, i think a rule change is necessary. In todays world, it's really unacceptable. In an office/work place, you cannot say " hey, you look nice today" as it's labelled sexist. So, can you then call a celebrity a whore? No full stop

IMO, implement a new rule, whereas calling celebs/amateurs whores etc, shouldn't be allowed.

Actually, while i'm at it, 90% of the sexy videos titles are so stupid & pathetic, it's a joke. No description of who the babe is, etc, most of the times, the thread titles appear to be, a very bad translation of the actual video title. I don't open them, nor have/will i report them. They're just the most ridiculous titles that i've ever seen. :evil:

 

I will fight tooth and nail against any rule that promotes political correctness. We do not want to go down that path. I think collectively we can try to reach a consensus on a way to express ourselves without coming across as ignorant morons.

What you say is true, but there's a reason we tolerate the often garbled titles. English is not the first language of many of the content posters in SVF, without whom 90% of the vids in that forum would never be posted in the first place. That's just one of the reasons. There are others but I'm not going to list them. Kind of tired right now.
