    I got a Logitech Illuminated Keyboard.....less than 1 cm thick....:D
Not many wired keyboards at Office Depot.....lots of wireless ones though. I don't want a wireless keyboard or mouse until that have lithium batteries and come with chargers....The mouse should have a storage holster that recharges the battery when not in use....The keyboard needs to have a charger with a pigtail wire that can be plugged into the keyboard to either recharge the batteries and to provide operating power.

Just a plain, rectangular keyboard with lighted keys.....has a good feel to it and think I will be happy with it.

During the hottest part of our summers, I spend $20 a day on AC.

I've considered the illuminated keyboard before because I sometimes post in low light conditions. Let me know how you like it.

Throbbn, it looks like the lighted keys will be great in low light conditions....plus you can set the light levels...100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and off.

It seems most of the stores that carry PC accessories no longer carry low end wired keyboards....only full range wireless and high end wired. To get a low end wired, you have have to order.

    sweet.

I prefer a wired keyboard too. I love wireless mice though. The batteries last forever now and I always keep a few fresh batteries at my computer desk just in case. ;)

very true. I found that only a few place, like Staples & Wal-Mart carry a couple low end choices.

I hear ya.......the mouse wire sometimes can be irritating.....but I will hold out until they make a model I li8ke with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a recharging cradle.

I understand the theory, but it seems that the manufacturers are staying away from that complexity. I have a few Logitech M305, Microsoft 3500. Staples has them on sale every few weeks, so I have a few different colors. Performance is good.

    Microsoft 3500:
You'll appreciate how this wireless mobile mouse comfortably fits your hand and your mobile lifestyle. Use it just about anywhere, even on a rough park bench or your living room carpet, relying on Microsoft BlueTrack Technology. 1 When it’s time to pack up and go, you’ll hardly notice the tiny transceiver. Keep it plugged into the USB port, or stow it in the bottom of the mouse for travel. Keep using your mouse for up to eight months with a single battery, and rely on the power indicator to tell you when it’s time to replace it.
