Okay. I got up at 5am. Showered. Checked the map and train schedule online again. Then took the bike to the trainstation. My train was scheduled for 7:01am from platform 5. So the train comes. I get in. At 7:06am I start to wonder if the train is delayed for some reason. Then I look out of the door and see that half the train is missing. Yes, the train was being divided and only the part I was not sitting in departed at 7:01am. So I was mad and went to the information. A nice woman there told me that a lot of people don't get the "train is being divided" thing. Gee, I wonder why. She stamped my ticket and allowed me to take the Intercity Express (which cost more) to the next town where I was supposed to catch another train to my destination and still arrive in time. But that train was already gone when I got there. So I had to spent an hour at this crappy trainstation in that crappy little town. Finally the next train arrives. I get on and arrive at my destination already ten minutes late for the start of my course....
Do you want to hear more or are you bored already?

So I jump into the next cab. The driver has never heard of the address I'm telling him and punches it into his GPS thingy. I've never been there before and can't help him out either. Five minutes later we find ourselves at a rather remote wooded area at a river. There's no more streets, just a small path leading away along the river. Weird. I pay the driver, get out and try to find my way on foot. Nothing to see, no buildings, no people. I go back up to the street, where I meet a street sweeper who I figure should know his way around in those parts and he can actually tell me the way. Turns out I have to walk for another twenty minutes until I finally arrive at the seminar center, which was built at a rather idyllic spot directly at the river, only not reachable by car. You had to park at the street and then walk down a steep path to the building. WTF?? So I'm almost an hour late and the group just finished their welcome ritual when I walk in. (The typical welcome ritual in this kind of social worker course goes like this: everyone tells a bit about themselves, their job position and their reason for being there.) Everyone stares at me. I get nervous. And I'm still sweaty from frantically walking around in the woods, trying to find the building.

Well, it gets boring from there. I mean, the subject was very interesting, although it was mainly about the basics. The different types of personality disorder etc. What makes these courses so great is that you meet people from all kinds of companies, working in different fields of social work, and everyone has stories to tell about interesting cases or questions to ask about certain clients.

I think you know all of it already. What I found most interesting was the fact how the basis for a personality disorder, for every personality disorder, is being laid between the ages of 0 to 4. And how even two year olds can already decide they don't want to trust anyone but themselves anymore. (Dissocial Personality Disorder, not sure if that's the right translation.)

It starts there, always. Anything after 4 years will most likely not turn into a PD.
