Inuk's Igloo : The Phun Random Chat Thread!

I am having trouble with my lap top.....about two years ago, I quit using my "air card" on it and when connecting to networks, I always had to go thru the AT&T air card stuff....so I uninstalled that program. Now, my laptop sees my wireless connection and connects to it; however, it does not connect to the internet. I know my wireless router system works as my wife uses it and my son did with no problems a few weekends ago. I have looked at everything I know of to try to solve this delima, but have been unsuccessful....not sure just what to do now. :?

 

The tree pollen is thick here.....yesterday my nose leaked clear water all day....so I have had to resort to a strong antihistamine to control the leaky nose....and that makes me have no energy. :?

I hate seeing stuff like that.....can't stand to see animals hurt.

 

If it's old then take a gun or golfclub and have fun. You could have a look in the router and see if your laptop is allowed to make a connection to internet. If it's marked as intruder then you won't be able to make a connection to internet

 

they didn't get hurt thankfully, but the driver wasn't really good at his job

 

Not sure how to do that, but later I will see what I can find out.....it is a secured network (password protected) and the laptop is showing a good connection to the router....the related screen has three icons....PC on the left, network in the middle, and the internet on the right.....the icons are connected by a line....between the network and the internet the line is broken by a circle with a red X in it.....so maybe the router is accepting the connection to it but blocking the internet like you said. We shall see.

strange that it won't access internet if it connects to the network. are you sure it's connected to the network if you check in controlpanel - networkconnections? should look something like this if it's working properly
