    Anyone having problems downloading from Rapidshare lately? Like, either incomplete downloads, corrupted downloads or interruptions during downloading? I'm guessing the RS servers are getting taxed pretty hard lately. :33:

    A popup from RS came to my attention while using jdownloader. Apparently, free user downloads are now throttled to 30 kb/s without any chance of resuming. Looks like the spike in traffic got to them and now they are taking (drastic) measures.

    d/l speed has always depended on server load /time of day, size of file (same host, huge difference in speed) and location, location, location (in Europe, netload is great, but most USA users get crappy d/l speeds (up to 100 Kbps and usually in the low teens and several times, I have gotten only 8 kbps).

    But, this MU fiasco has got other hosts running scared (FileSonic) and limiting countries serviced (ul.to) and even closing down w/o warning (MultiUpLoad).

    For me as a free user, RS was doing quite well there for a while (as early as 3 days ago) and speeds were better than when I was a premium member. After reading the latest, I tested a RS link and while the d/l speed was in the 400 Kbps range, it was d/l'ing incrementally (the d/l time actually increased, even though the speed remained the same). :confused:

    HotFile has decent d/l speeds, but the files get deleted too quickly.

    I found a multihoster and now I can download from many filehosters with premium account features. No captures, no low speed and no waiting time. It works very well. :)
