Just going through the boards... maybe it's a little childish of me, but I'm laughing at all these cashposters crying over their payout losses from Filesonic and other filehosters going offline.

 

i get the joke, but i worry just how far this is going to go
with the owner of mega sitting in jail waiting extradition to America, the other file hosts have to be watching closely
i can recall when the pirate bay touted they would never fold..
never heard from them again.

fileshare owns filesonic, and about 5 other hosts.
rapid is the big boy on the block still, i shall watch them and see...
i fear the worst by the end of this year.

sopa and pipa are both losing major support going into tomorrow's vote.

Megaupload has hired a major big-time lawyer: case will never go to trial, plea-bargain for a 5 year sentence, major penalties paid.

The filesharing shake-up is not surprising and was probably needed - Rapidshare looks smart now with all the changes they've made a couple years ago.

I'm curious to see how things settle out this week... probably start sharing again next week.

Fileserve – Stopped filesharing. You can only download your own files. Deleting multiple files. Banning Premium accounts. Closed Affiliate Program.
Filesonic – Stopped filesharing. You can only download your own files. Closed Affiliate Program. Changed server location Jan 22, 2012. Taken down it's Facebook page Now using Digital fingerprinting. Files are being deleted as soon as uploaded (as Hotfile did).
VideoBB – Closed Affiliate Program.
Filepost – Started suspending accounts with infringing material (as Hotfile did)
uploaded , – Blocked U.S. access.
Videozer – Closed Affiliate Program.
Filejungle – Owned by Fileserve (same as above). Testing USA IP addresses blocking.
Uploadstation – Owned by Fileserve (same as above). Testing USA IP addresses blocking.
4Shared – Deleting multiple files
EnterUpload - Down (Redirect)

 

There's also word that mediafire is supposed closing down soon as well.

 

this happened without the passing of any new legislation
its my opinion they intend to make an example, a plea may happen in the end, but nothing to soon.

its my thought you dont arrest a very rich very powerful person in another country making huge waves for that countries political leaders just to let them go with a slap on the wrist, one must consider the political gas spent to get this done, this has never happened before and new Zealand isnt exactly Americas BFF so like i said, ill wait and see.
