Sucks that Megaupload went down for me, but I'll adapt. Couldn't care less for Filesonic and Fileserve. To me, it's an end to a 2 year era of cashwhore spamming - now, maybe people will share stuff just for fun than anything else.

 

are you thinking that rapid and hotfile are going to be able to survive given the current environment?

 

Rapid will - they've made so many concessions, changed their business model and did some smart preemptive to appeal to the DMCA that they're pretty bulletproof.

Hotfile has been pretty proactive in how they've handled copyrighted material - their problem is that they still offer "virtual dollars" to uploaders, so that can get them in trouble.

Phun should allow a couple of new filehosts though - don't think Megaupload is coming back and not sure if Filesonic will allow public sharing again.
