Nope......usually the cleaning crew (don't picture a fancy crew here......picture a few rowdy guys in dirty cloths) goes out there picks up a few things from one end....and drops it off at the other end.....or just throws it into the sea.....and of course the tide brigs it back......but you see they don't realize that.

Conversations with my mom about garbage :

*walking on the road with mom looking at garbage*

Me : Look at that....look at the filth that surrounds us......the brine that stews up this country into a....

Mom : Just ignore it.

Me : What? How?....it's right there....and there......and there....and God lord there's a cow.....and it's eating the garbage...

Mom : Everybody else is ignoring it.....why can't you.

Me : Because there is a cow....what these people consider to be a sacred animal.....eating rotting garbage.

Mom : I know it's bad....but there is no point in you standing here lecturing me about it okay... every time we go out you start with this.

Me : Because every time we go out the garbage is there..and we always run into a cow!!!!!!!!

Mom : I see it to okay, but you can't spend all day here cirticising garbage.

Me : *stares at cow* *stares at garage* *stares at the unconcerned faces of the passing idiots* ...........I hate this country.

 

Me: ...and he never seems to enjoy the simple things in life! He's just always so pessimistic!
Jack's mom: I know!!
Me: And his elitist tendencies! Not to mention his constant brooding over philosophical questions when instead he could just go out and meet a nice girl and start making babies!!
Jack's mom: Yes! I keep telling him, I want grandchildren!
Me: Maybe you should start inviting nice young girls over for tea.

i would take a trash bag with you.. if every person in moooombye takes a kitchen hefty and fills it every thing but the big boat would be gone.
i was looking at that ship, and thinking, damn if lived there i would have me and a band hit that thing late at night, steel prices are high enough to make scrapping it worth my while
they would show up the next morning to Tractor traler tracks in the sand and a hole big enough to drive one through in the side.
i would be at the scrap yard with 25MM steel plate to scrap out for $$$$

but you seem to want to change it, however powerless you feel

having said that, you need to start a yahoo group called "People that live in Mooooombuy that wanna clean it up" then you can all rally, using social medias such as facebook and twatter and flash mob and clean. and scrutinize while you clean, so like you pick up a piece of trash you scold whoever was standing by it. "you saw it, you were standing right next to it and you did nothing, what will become of our beautiful MooooombI if nobody ever does anything" and that will motivate them, then give them a slip of paper with your yahoo group name on it and ... wait then you will have to pick it up next

No, because of the reason you mentioned..... people steal metal.

 

There are tons of groups like that..........but you don't get why this place dirty.....because people litter and piss and don't care....the entire system support it.....you have to change the mindset of the country.

 

I have seen people in Mercedes' throw things out of the window onto the street.......no matter how poor/rich or uneducated/educated you are....an Indian is an Indian and he will litter.

 

your not going to beleive this but there was a time in the early 70s we had exactly the same problem.

you couldnt even drink the water from the great lakes (fresh water) or eat fish from them.
trash litterd everywhere, it was a mess

but we got our shit together and cleaned it up
the great lakes are still on there way, but they are getting better
and i dont really see a ton of trash anymore
its like a huge NONO to be the guy that discards his trash in a public place
people will remark openly now.

and your right it has to be a mindset change
we still have people here that think its ok to pollute and piss ni the water and what not (according to their stated goals)
