I always found the egg planes hilarious.

Besides, I already built all the normal kits of the Enterprise and it's planes. Even the TBD devestator. Built all the planes in 1:48 and the ship in 1:144th for my dad when I was a kid for fathers day.

When I was a kid, I bought and assembled a model of a P-51 Mustang....Thought it was a really neat looking plane. My maternal grandparents lived on the mainland side of Sarasota Bay. We were visiting that following summer and I noticed a "different" kind of plane flying around over the bay....Not only did it sound different from the normal private planes, but it was flying very differently......It was hauling ass!....It even flew straight up! Finally, it fly close enough to the eastern bay shore that I could see it clearly.....it was a Mustang! Never will forget that.....I still remember the goose bumps I got when I realized what I was watching...;)

I also bought and assembled the double body WWII plane with two engines....was that the P-30 Lightening? Thought that plan was awesome also......you know the one....it was the plane that shot down that highest ranking Japanese admiral over the south Pacific. (Ya-she-moto ?)

I was working on a new sig for myself..:[IMG]

And while browsing I stumbled across some old egg plane models from hasegawa back in the 80s, naturally that led to an eggplane hunt ...

I recall doing models of most of the WWII fighters and a few of the bombers....specifically remember the F4U Corsair.

yeah, Pappy Boyington. I watched Baa Baa Blacksheep every saturday afternoon in the 70s The f4u's and the pseudo-zeros made out of at-6 Texans lol.

I remember the 1/32 revell f4u kit had trouble with collapsing landing gear.
