i love history, one of my favorite guys ever was Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, this dood was a perfect leader at a perfect time
he told a childhood friend during a battle with the Australians do go around the back side of a ridge and fire from over there with a handful of men, he needed the aussy's to think his entire brigade was over there, that way he could flank them with the full force. his friend looked at him, "youve just ordered me to die" is basically what he said. Ataturk apparently told him something along the lines of "yes and take you time doing it" now iv probably messed up most of this. but i think thats how it went, anyway, yea, i would have liked hanging with that guy, see what makes him tick.

Nobody knows. but apparently rumor has it that Big M did not take the threat serousely and ended up dead for the mistake.

i just like trying to sort out what these guys were thinking and what there plan was
like when Stalin found out we had the atom bomb

he read the note and with perfect poker face made absolutely no indication of caring
resulting in my nation apparently worrying about the progression of the Russians on there bomb.

A lot of people (in fact all of them) made the mistake of taking Europeans lightly when they first showed up.

yes, they did. at one point the single most powerful nation on earth.
however, i never really thought they were that strong, they built there armies the old fashioned way, by recruiting locals.
a flaw at best. evenly the locals chose home over you, every time.

i dont consider either of us an idiot. i jsut cant remember exactly how that went, i know it was a meeting, i know he was given the info on a slip of paper quietly becouse there were people. there, and i know he knew the war int he pacific was over at that moment. i also remember he made no reference to its importance upon reading it.

you know they call Afghanistan the gateway to Europe, every advanced civilization has at one time or another tried to conquer it and i think all have failed. but i could be wrong again.

ok. so did you know that guy didnt exactly have the king permission to head off to south America, and a crew was sent to arrest or kill him becouse of that.
i leaned that up last night on the talking picture box
