  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    the only thing I noted so far is the flooding error and the online/offline buttons. I wonder why there was a need to upgrade to a bugged version :rolleyes:

    both. sometimes we get a question if we really want to leave the page when posting our replies, if we say Ok we get a doublepost, so abort is the way to go.. then right after that you may wanna update (F5) the page or else it's still gonna be a double post.. though sometimes there will be a doublepost anyway..

    then sometimes we get thrown back a page or two.. or 16000 for a while. sometimes our posts won't show up until the second pageupdate. some of us have problems being allowed to log in to the site for hours.


    we have gotten used to so many quirks with this place in the last months.. almost ridiculous.

    I think they wanted another paycheck or something to be able to use the old version for a while longer (iow we couldn't use it anymore), and it was full of holes for the spammers to crawl through again and again so the change was necessary.. anyway, it seems like the hoster is to blame for all the problems we are having now.

    well I have some experience with vb forums as my office is running it for management-client interactions. As far as I know vB isn't forcing anyone to upgrade :eek: Spammers can get through any system, some plugins have to be installed to fix that I had installed a few myself on my office forums and it was good.
    Don't know why it admins didn't try that before :eek: My office management wanted to upgrade our forums but I said please don't do it the vb4 version is all buggy and it seems I did the right thing in stopping them to upgrade :p Don't know how long I can hold them but at least for now I don't have to face any bugs on our office forum.
