Honestly tho, I dont mind the jealousy, the possessiveness <--(are there enough "s" in that word?), the moody, horny, weirdness, not even the cotton panties she's been wearing 10 years. No, I can even enjoy those things most of the time. It's the sheer self-destructive stupidity that really puts me off.

You just know this is leading to a story/for instance.

I had a friend (woman) that I worked with at the school district for 6.5 years. Pretty nice woman, good looking etc. She had a really nice long term boyfriend. He wanted to marry her for years. She was just never ready, and finally, when he gave her an ultimatum, marry or else after like 3.5 years or something, she dumped him. She moped around a few months to get sympathy as long as people would put up with her. When that ran out she hit the bars, where she sat till some stranger would come by, pick her up, fuck her stupid then call her a cab. After a couple years or so of this stupidity, when everyone was pretty much sick and tired of her shit, she up and marries some guy she's known a month. By now she's 30-something, been fucked by most of the bars around town, has virtually no savings, and an attitude worthy of a $20 whore, she gets on a "There are no good men available". Whereupon, her husband (sic) runs up her credit cards, buys a new car with her bank account and moves in with a 20-something girl who is quite a bit better looking and by now much less worn looking than this woman. So. What does she do? Goes wandering back to that old first boyfriend from years ago who certainly wants nothing to do with her now since she's pretty much fucked everybody he works with or knows. Suddenly, he's an asshole that never loved her.

I actually laughed in her face. (Pretty much ruined that friendship, but it happened in the teacher lunchroom in front of about 15 teachers she was bitching to so she wasnt able to spin it around to her side.) I simply listed out her actions of the last 5 years or so then asked her why any man worth a damn would even consider her. She wanted a guy that didnt sleep around, worked hard and would be a good father for kids, that would "love" her. I asked why on earth would any man like that want her?

Holy shit you could have heard a pin drop. She started cussing me up and down and it was all I could not to laugh. When I just kept smiling she finally collected enough brain cells to ask why, I just turned to the lunch table, pointed at her, and said "ladies? This is a woman looking for a good man. God help him." and walked out.


That's what I cant stand. Such stupid self-destructive behaviour. The most of the rest I'm alright with. Except the normal stuff of course. I'm old fashioned. Got no intentions of getting new-fashioned either.

I am still digesting most of that but I agree with you whole heartily. I am luck to have found a woman that has no problem with my eccentricities. Nor does she have a problem with the fact I enjoy chatting on Phun or watching porn. I am damn lucky and I might call her crazy for loving me sometimes.


I guess my point is:

Grab whats good when you have it cause you can't bitch about loosing it later cause its your own damn fault.

Worst part of it was, she was always comparing every guy she was with to that first guy. Even though everyone who knew them said it was her that wouldnt follow thru, to this day she insists he left her when he said either marry me or we're done. He even waited around for her for a couple years, till it was obvious she wasnt worth a damn, and people would ask him why he was waiting around for an idiot. I still am friends with his brother (that means I talk to him a couple times a year). He's never done much since then, got a girlfriend that has a couple kids with somebody else. Sad really. When I talk to folks from back then they still mention her sometimes. Shacked up with so and so. I havent seen her since i left district about 5 years ago, but it doesnt sound like she's gonna end up near where everybody thought in 2000. Ah well. Stupidity pays.

I hate to be this kind of mean guy but then he's a moron too. I mean I do realize that I have hung onto things far longer than I should have but I do realize that what it was is just a fantasy. The holding onto it is a greater mental issue that I am having trouble fixing. He needs to go forward himself cause if he's not careful he'll want the old her back and that part of her is dead now.

I really dont think he'll ever go back. I mean, he did move 1/2 way across the country to Atlanta and pretty much doesnt speak to anybody from back then, even those of us who were his friends as much as hers.
I think he just spent almost 7 years thinking and planning out his life with that woman and he's never figured out something else to do. Hell, I havent talked to him myself in years so he could be happy as flies on shit and I wouldnt know. His brother doesnt seem to think he's as happy as he might have been but then, that's life, right?
