    The incentive was an additional 3 years of work credit used to calculate my retirement benefits....that meant an additional $6k a year. I retired with 42 years of service.

    We have to work until 66 before we can retire. They may have upped that to 68 already, I'm not sure. :dunno:
    You can retire early for health reasons, or when your employer needs to get rid of some employees due to cut backs and makes a deal with you.

    That sound similair to what we call private schools here. You have to pay either a yearly fee to the school or a fee per semester/period. The difference is that we dont have such a big system of scholarships yet atleast so what you have to have is the grades from high school of course. Then there is the public universitys what you need is the grades. No additional fees at all. You must be proud of your sons.

    Yes, very proud.....they are good people. The cost of my sons' post high school education will be $1,000,000 of which $300,000 is from educational loans that must be paid back. This may help to further explain why I have very little spare money now.

    yeah the whole thing with student loans is a big issue for me to. I think i have 70k roughly that i have to pay back it isnt to bad i have 4 bills each year for 1500 that i have to pay to them. There are some interest to that to. I wish i had figured out earlier that studying on a higher level wasnt anything for me but what can you do.
