I can't find out what's necessary to do to make a different engine fit in my car

 

Sometimes it a very difficult thing One , sometimes it's easy.
Different type all together? or remotely close.
Motor mounts is a good place to start

same motor type, different size (Subaru EJ18 to EJ22 conversion). motor mounts and all that will bolt straight on, it's the ecu I'm thinking of. some say it will work, some say it won't.

and I can't find anyone that have changed to the type of engine I can find (EJ20) and lived to tell about it, so no info on that type of swap

 

Swap engine harness form EJ18 onto EJ22 intake manifold. that way you can use your stock wiring. you might need the EJ18 intake & exhaust manifold as well.

 

It may be needed to swap the injectors to the ej22 injectors too. but then it will run rich which I don't know if it will pass the yearly inspection..

fuck it would be so much easier to just find a ej18, but those are so fucking rare.

 

I need to go and check what type of ej18 it is under the hood. with my luck it's not a compatible one

 

it is an EJ18S engine.. now it's just a matter of finding a EJ22L or whatever it said would match
