    but in reality i really dont want anything, id much prefer not being expected to get anything for anybody else on their birthday and just not get anything. Hanging out with family and friends is good enough, if i want a new toy i can just as well buy it myself

    Mom is doing excellent, thanks. I got a bit of a scare when her nurse woke me at 7:30 this morning telling me that because of a complication she was going into surgery soon and that dad and I had to get to the hospital soonest possible, but the procedure to remove the clot from her leg was a resounding success by all measures and that's an enormous relief for all of us. Mom was in very good spirits this evening when we left to let her get some much needed rest. :)
    That makes more sense.
