I only get cheap Indian wine.

 

It's about $14 usually but the local market has it on sale. I bought it to braise Italian sausage with. I still have more sausage, gonna have to go get some more wine. Hope it's still on sale.

 

Which begs the question: Are there vineyards in India? I'd have to imagine somewhere on that sub-continent has an appropriate climate for growing grapes.

 

Okay, I'm gonna hit the market before I get too lazy to do it later. I'll be back in an hour or so.

 

I get a Port for about 130....which is...um.....4$ maybe.

And a white wine that's about 170.....so.....6$

Other wines regular are priced at around 250-700 a bottle.......then of course you have the good stuff which could be up to 5000 a bottle.

Yes they do....in he...um.....something from N.......can't remember now.

I could say that it was good....but that opinion wouldn't mean much since I've never had "good" wine.

A $4 bottle of port in the US would be crap. Conversely, a $6 bottle of chablis or white zinfandel, etc, would be very tasty indeed. Price is an indicator but not always a reliable measure of what is quality and what is not. Most California or New York wines costing between 5 and 15 dollars per bottle are very palatable. I bought 3 more bottles of that cabernet @ $8 per. Was worth it even though it's not's really in the budget. Fuck it, life is short.
