im not sure, but i think i know were he was, he went on a 5 hour hike today, said he was looking for bears with a spotting scope. ive gone on hikes with him. he knows how to hike i tell ya. some of the greatest things ive ever seen scenery wise.

i wonder if jack will like it.

 

Where in Alaska does he live? Is that nearby or did he drive for an hour before taking his hike?

 

if its were i think it is, its about a 10 min drive from his house, but it could be another place, ive been both, and that one is about 3 min. he lives in eagle river, its a suburb of anchorage, the first one is on the inland side of anchorage, that would be the west side, the other is in eagle river, its the same range, its just different mountains. he hikes all over though and to be fair, they kinda all look the same from the top. he goes alone most all the time. he says he does it to unattach himself with everything. im surprised he took his cell phone he normally does not.
I lived in wassilla, we didnt really have mountains right near by, and i never went alone, always with him. you pass through, or i guess beside eagle river on the way to anchorage. a drive i made every morning while i was there. he was only there for a month and a half while i was living there, he was in the air force and stationed in Japan at the time. He was supposed to retire and move there. thats why i was there, mostly becouse when he retired we were going to spend time doing just this sort of thing.

now im in Toledo typing on a porn board while my family enjoys a night without me, and he is on the top of a mountain drinking an ice cold and looking for things that can eat him

mind you, i could never live the life the air force has afforded him. he was a great and very respected man there and earned every second of his serenity he has now.

nope i think he was just up there to watch them if he could find em. bears can smell for miles and miles. so he may have been safe at that distance. but not if they got to close, he always carries a 38 magnum just in case, but if the bear dont mess with him, he dont mess with them
