How else could he have vanished so quickly? And let's face it, when pm said he was getting up to face the guy you know there was some heavy lag time involved. It's not like he sprung up out of his sittin' chair like a spry man in his 20's. No. We're talking about a fairly ill man in his early 50's here. I'm guessing there was considerable deliberation involved in the effort.

The dogs didn't go at him right away. They looked at him for a split second, like, "Who the fuck are you?" As he closed the door behind him, the dogs were on his tail though.

 

Almost 1000 pages too. Yay.

 

I've just re-read "On Writing" by King for the 4,000th time. A fantastic book.

 

That gave me a mental image of your dogs with sunglasses and crossed paws, rippling their muscles like a pair of night club bouncers.

 

You should know it by heart after the first 1000 reads!

On Writing is a book you keep on the shelf all your life. Like a dictionary. It's the best book on writing I've ever read.
