I was thinking about a dream had the other night.......and wishing I could go back to that.........which made me think how cool it would be if I could have lucid dreams and/or control them.......which, I think brought up an interesting question............... would it still be dreaming if you could fully control what took place?................the primary definition of dreaming being something that takes place in the sub-conscious mind.

 

of course, lucid dreaming is still dreaming

Yes but to what extent.....how much of the dream can transfer from the sub-conscious to the conscious while still remaining a dream?

so you could be consciously effecting your dream but as long as your asleep it would still be a dream

 

Yes but if your conscious, you wouldn't be a asleep.

That would be lucid dreaming.........and my question is how far could you push that consciousness before you wake up.

well that i dont know, i dont have lucid dreams often enough to know if you can keep yourself asleep or if at some point you become too aware that your dreaming and just wake up

you should try learning how to lucid dream, maybe figure it out

 

Curious, and it's very interesting.

Actually I don't think it's physically doable at all, it simply contradicts itself............but it is interesting to speculate upon.

 

I've at times influenced some dreams I was having. It usually happens when I'm on the verge of waking in the morning.

 

I've willed myself awake once....but haven't really been able to do it since, but I usually enjoy my dreams so there is really no point in it.

 

I don't recall the last time I had what some would consider a nightmare. I have been startled awake by some my dreams though, but not from fright. Just odd shit, like maybe I forgot to do something important.

 

i know for a fact its possible, ive done it a few times, i cant control it though

 

I find dreams very interesting...mine usually jump from one scene to another like an endless through stream.

Well not everybody an even lucid dream to begin with.....and to do it properly you really do have to be trained to an extent.
