well i just had a un expected reboot of the computer
i think it was my itunes finishing its upgrade.
but im not sure. could be a bad stick of memory

in 1956 les paul had Gibson make the SD (solid body) they produced a few of them, the 58 and 59 being the bomb
i have held a 56 with no seriial numbers, and a 58 and a 57 with gold frets.
all three had the sidways vibrato.
according to this guy, and i think he is right, les paul didnt like were the axe was going and removed his naming rights from it. keep in mind he was freaking huge to anyone that played guitar becouse he was so innovative. if im right he had a lot to do with electrifying it. but im not clear on that.
he was also kinda a dick
i know a man that met him, spent some time chatting with him and took that opinion away enough to share it with me. says he was just a little bit full of himself.

from what i understand, others had electrified it, but he did it in the most rock and roll sense, and is basically credited with inventing it, doesnt matter though, it wasnt fully realized until 54 when Leo made the stratocaster

now i wonder, who is your favorite of all time, i mean you must have a goto guy that you think is the bomb
for me, oddly, its chet Atkins. i love the sound he gets, same formate, mark knopfler, who played behind chet often and cut a cd with him called neck and neck i think
both are good, i would say mark is my favorite now that i put them together.
