Depressing encounter of the week: meeting an old friend. Haven't seen her for months.

Our annual city festival starts tomorrow. Meaning the streets will be as crowded and dirty as in Mumbai for a week and a half.

 

Minus the cows.

 

And minus the large piles of sewage water, the open manholes, the large dents in the pavement, the upturned toilet seat that I saw laying on my very street, the vagabonds wondering about and acting, for some bizzare reason like they are having the time of their lives, the stray dogs and cats, The cops standing around like Neanderthals trying to look as if they are more evolved than they actually are, the left over pills of silt that still haven't been cleared up and are just waiting to swim back into the gutters.....and lastly the bacteria, other malicious organisms that born here...set up well developed colony here, full with job structures, vacation homes and health plans.
