And you dare to criticize my taste in movies??!!

 

Hmmm....sometimes....usually when there are animals dying...... you cry a lot during movies don't you?

 

I haven't read the book......I loved the movie though....it was so intriguingly fucked up!

The book is great. The movie is only about the first part of the book. The other part is about the grown-up Ruth, who's become a successful writer, too. When she is on a reading tour in Amsterdam, she gets an idea for a new novel for which she wants to investigate the work of prostitutes. As she secretly watches a prostitute with a customer, the man kills the whore. She's the only witness, but doesn't talk to the police. She writes about it in her new novel though, that's how the Dutch policeman investigating the murder knows she saw something.
Also, Eddie becomes a writer too, and he never gets over his affair with Marion. He keeps falling for older women. And so on. Typical John Irving.

 

Only when I don't feel so good anyway.

Oh yeah. There are actually quite a few movies we both like. Then again, there are also quite a few movies on your list which I wouldn't even consider watching.
