No, it's actually true.... it's just not willingly done. It's a way of the soul to take over. Like you said, the subconsciousness. Although I would still say, "self-imposed" is not the right word. Because no one chooses to become mentally ill and compensate with symptoms.

What type of people do you work with, are their problems genetic or a result of PTSD?

 

And a total lack of eating etiquette. :-|

 

Genetics may play a role when you suffer from psychosis (schizophrenia), severe depressions, maybe some personality disorders. I work with clients suffering from all these, PTSD too. A few of our clients suffer from dissociative identity disorder. Most of them suffer from personality disorders (borderline) combined with several other disorders. (Eating disorder, anxiety, panic attacks, OCD.)

 

I haven't encountered anybody with that as yet.

 

Maybe you have and you just don't know.

 

It may be something more common in the Western nations.

 

I do... but I enjoy almost anything that enhances sexual activities. Food - in the right quantities and "places" - certainly works.

My younger cousin is a kleptomaniac - she's also demonstrated some behavior of OCD. She's learning to control it better now so when she comes visit, I don't always have to put things away in drawers. But in the past, she would "accumulate" some of my things and when I go over to her place, she would have all the things she stole from me in a nice neat "stack".

 

It is, I've concluded that a large number psychological disorders and other social perversions come from a developed environment.

So she wants you to see them? And gives them back to you?

 

It is in some ways - it was kinda endearing when she was like in grade school. But once she got in high school, it really started becoming a problem - like she couldn't go over her friend's houses and stuff. Thankfully, she never stole stuff from like stores or anything - it was always people she knew on some level (friends, family, associates, etc.,).
