    Not since the Christians took over. In the pre-Roman Empire times there were gods like Wotan/Odin or Thor. Then came the Roman gods. Then came Christianity. The mythology survived in parts in the common superstitions of the people. It was one of the brothers Grimm, in fact, who got interested in the old mythologies and studied them at length.
    Some of the old gods and heroes can be found in Wagner's "Der Ring des Nibelungen", although it's more like he invented a new mythology.

    I like mythology and folklore. It's unfortunate that we no longer create contemporary oral morality tales that can be passed on from one generation to the next. organized religion put an end to it. Novels and movies and TV shows have replaced it, but it's not the same.
