    Thank you, I do too.
It isn't always fun, no. Do you now, at least in a way, understand why I do what I do?

I think about the easy way out every day. My curiosity is what keeps me alive.
Three years ago I came to the conclusion that I might not get past 30. Since then, that thought has stuck to my mind, at least subconsciously. It somehow helps me get by.s

You're too kind. You're also a bright and intelligent young man so don't sell yourself short Mel. I can't pretend to know what you're going through with this panic/anxiety disorder but I do know you're attitude about yourself sucks. You shouldn't think of oyurself as a miserable human even if it' true that you'Re condition has you living in misery. You need address your troubles in a straightforward and possitive manner and think of yourself in positive light, as a conquerer say, not a victim. It may sound trite but it's true. You need to take control. You need to believe it's possible on both a physical and intellectual level.

You know...the stuff that you've told doesn't really cheer me up, it just brings me further towards the conclusion that life is random, and no matter how much effort you put into making your life as good as possible, there's nothing you can do to prevent a major fuckup.
One of my uncles (my mother's brother) died this spring. He was the owner of a rather popular pub. It was a great source of income for him, he had a pretty good life and he had one of the sweetest women one could imagine. Then bam, cancer.
My other uncle (also a brother of my mother) attempted suicide some 2 years ago. My father left my mom prior to me being born, so I've never had a real father figure. This uncle has been the only idol/role model I've ever had. He is one of the most positive and pleasant people I know. 3 years ago he was involved in a car incident, causing him to get a whiplash. He spent well over a year dealing with lawyers, immense pain and a dysfunctional relationship. At some point, he got enough, and swallowed a bunch of pills...imagine that the only person you'd ever looked up to, deciding that life wasn't worth living. Yeah.
My sister (9 years older than me) had always been one of the top students in her class during high school. At the age of 19, she got pregnant. A year later, she got pregnant once again. These two children have totally ruined her life. I really adore both of them, and being with them is one of the only things that is guaranteed to make me happy. Naturally, she loves both of them and would do anything to make their lives as good as possible, but the fact that she got pregnant at such a young age, has made her unable to get a proper education.
As mentioned above, my father left before I was born. This left the task of raising me, my sister and my brother (10 years my age) to my mother. Now, my mother is the greatest mother in the world, she would do anything for her children. When I was younger and my siblings still lived at home, my mother had 3 jobs at the same time. She was a cleaning lady, bartender at my uncle's pub as well as some other job that I don't remember. She had to work for 70-80 hours a week, and at the same time she had to take care of 2 teenagers and a 5 year old kid (me). All of this led to stress, which further developed into depression and narcolepsy. She is now retired, and can't work for more than 2-3 hours 2 days a week. She will have to be on happy pills for the rest of her life.

I've got a bunch of other stories like these, but I think the content of these 4 is sufficient enough to prove my point: life is random. You can be incredibly hardworking, smart and optimistic, but no matter what you do, the chance of a major fuck up is always just right around the corner.

Mel, you should look into PMA: positive mental attitude. Alot has been written about it and it works. BTW I'm trying to keep up here but I'm posting from my phone znd texting with my sister too about family stuff so it's kind of difficult.

    scribe is right Melon.

    positive mental attitude.

it does help. I've dealt with a lot of suicide. a lot.

it does not help. only leaves questions to those who are left to deal with it.

And yes, life is random. It's a serio-tragic comedy writ large, so stop whining Mel. It's annoying.
