~ Cool Sigs Redux ~ (for babe/chick sigs)

Really nice. I've been messing around with similar ideas but less successfully. It's tough when the size limit is so small, plus I don't really have the skills.

 

yeah ones like that are tricky, about 9 in every 10 ideas i have don't work, mainly due to size constraints when trying to match perspectives, often doesn't leave enough room to finish the image. takes a lot of time and fiddling! quite often not worth the result but some work out nice.

 

Lukin, do you know a way of rotating a pic with a stroke boarder so the edges don't get jaggies? It always looks nice and smooth at first, but as soon as I change the perspective or rotate the boarder it looks rubbish. There must be some way of doing it.

 

I was actually thinking it might be a nice idea to start a sig tips and advice thread in creative. People could post techniques and ask questions.

1st pic is a normal sig with a boarder.

2nd pic is the same sig but made smaller and rotated, and now the boarder has lost its smoothness.

 

the main problem with this example is in the original picture you've got a 1 pixel border, then in the 2nd you've scaled the picture down. this means photoshop has to resample the image with a border that's technically thinner than a pixel which it can't display accurately. try using a thicker border to begin with, or apply the stroke/border after it's been scaled and rotated. you'll still get some jaggies but hopefully not many

 

I have tried that and it still doesn't look very good sadly.

 

I was going to suggest adding a border afterwards. Are you sure it doesn't work? Have you tried putting it centre or outside, instead of inside?

 

Maybe it will work if I make a huge sig and scale it down. I'll try it later.

 

Try a light feather on the border maybe? That might tone down the tearing.
